内容紹介：
カルデラ形成を伴うような大規模噴火は，数10-1,000 km3の火砕物を噴出し，火砕流や降下火砕物等により，広域に甚大な被害を及ぼす事が想定される．大規模噴火の活動推移，短〜長期的な前駆活動の詳細を把握することは，火山活動の理解だけでなく，防災面においても重要である．そこで，産総研地質調査総合センターでは，数年前より大規模噴火に由来する噴出物の特徴，噴火推移，短・長期的前駆活動および後カルデラ活動等を取りまとめ，大規模噴火データベースの構築を進めている．本研究資料集では，これらのうち，VEI 7 (火山爆発指数; Newhall and Self, 1982) の鬼界-長瀬噴火 (95 ka)，屈斜路火砕流IV噴火 (120 ka)，白頭山苫小牧噴火 (946AD)，VEI 6の十和田大不動噴火 (32 cal ka)，三瓶木次噴火 (110-115 ka)，ウルルン隠岐噴火 (10 cal ka)について報告する．

The characteristics of ejecta and eruption sequence of large-scale volcanic eruptions, and the activities before and after these eruptions are compiled. Included are 7 caldera forming-eruptions which are the following: Kikai-Nagase eruption (95 ka) and Kutcahro IV eruption (120 ka), Towada-Ofudo eruption (32 cal ka), Sambe-Kisuki eruption (110-115 ka), Ulleung-Oki eruption (10 cal ka) and Changbaishan Millennium eruption (946 AD).
