内容紹介：

カルデラ形成を伴う巨大・大規模噴火では、数〜100 km³以上の火砕物が一気に地表に噴出し、プリニー式噴火による大規模な噴煙柱や、周囲に流れ下った大規模火砕流から分離した火山灰が降下テフラとして、給源から100 km以上、時には1000 km以上離れた範囲を広く覆う。大規模噴火による降下テフラの影響範囲の評価は、今後の大規模カルデラ噴火の影響範囲を予測する上でも重要である。産総研地質調査総合センターでは、2016年に東・東南アジア地域の大規模な地震、火山噴火による分布域などを取りまとめ、1000万分の1東アジア地域地震火山災害情報図として出版した。その中では、VEI6以上（10 km³以上）の14の代表的な降下テフラの分布域を示した。本研究資料集では、東・東南アジア地域において、スミソニアンのVolcanoes of the world 第3版に示されている完新世及び更新世の巨大・大規模火山噴火の内、国内を除く、74 ka以降のVEI7以上の噴火、及び10.2 ka以降のVEI6の噴火で発生した10の降下テフラを取り上げた。トバ7.4万年前噴火、白頭山946年噴火、タンボラ1815年噴火、リンジャニ1257年噴火、クラカタウ1883年噴火、ラバウル7世紀噴火、ピナツボ1991年噴火、ロングアイランド1660年噴火、ウィトリ-キンベ2噴火、ウルルン-隠岐噴火の降下テフラについて、分布域のGISデータの作成を行った。

The distribution of large-scale tephra falls in East and Southeast Asia are compiled and GIS data are provided. Tephra falls data are obtained from 10 volcanic caldera-forming eruptions in the region (except in Japan) such as Toba 74 ka eruption, Baitoushan-Tomakomai 946AD eruption (B-Tm), Tambora 1815AD eruption, Rinjani-Samalas eruption, Krakatau 1883AD eruption, Rabaul 7c eruption, Pinatubo 1991AD eruption, Long Island 1660AD eruption, Witori-Kimbe2 eruption (W-K2), and Ulleung-Oki eruption (U-Oki).
