Scope
The Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) holds annual regular training course for young geological researchers and engineers in the CCOP member countries from 2018. This training course focuses on practical geological survey techniques, considering that accurate geological mapping is fundamental for natural resources development, environmental conservation, and mitigation of geological disasters. GSJ has published geological maps in Japan, which is tectonically active and its geology is very complex, for more than 140 years and contributed to the national prosperity and safety. Today, geological maps have become more reliable and accessible with the latest analytical methods and information technology. This training course offers the participants an opportunity to improve their geological survey skills through intensive lectures, field trips, and laboratory practices.
