モンゴルの大草原から突き出た高さ2mにも満たないこの花崗岩に，地表面から薄板を平行に積み重なたような縞模様が見られます．この縞模様は地表面に平行に形成されている割れ目です．このような割れ目は，専門用語でマイクロシーティングやラミネーションなどと呼ばれ，花崗岩山地における災害の潜在的な地質素因として最近注目されています．
Granite outcrop of less than 2 meters in height, projecting from wild plain of central Mongolia, has distinct striped patterns roughly parallel to the earth surface. This pattern is a surface expression of sheet-like fractures, which are more commonly described as sheeting joints, micro-sheetings and laminations. These horizontal joints have attracted attentions as one of potential geologic factors, which may cause slope failure in granite areas.
