音波探査の航跡

船尾から伸びる航跡の泡にまじって，白い泡がかたまりになっているのがいくつか見える．これは圧縮空気が開放されて海面に浮上したものである．産総研 地質調査総合センターでは日本周辺海域の地質構造を明らかにするために音波探査を行っており，音源に圧縮空気を用いている．左のクレーンから音源のエアガンを曳航し，開放された白い泡は，断続的に航跡のあとを追っていく．
Track of survey
The several white clustered bubbles, which is following after the trail bubbles left by the ship, is compressed air which is surfacing after bursting up to release compression and impulse from Air Gun under the sea level. Compressed air is used for pulse generator of seismic profiling. GSJ/AIST has performed continuous seismic profiling survey, in order to clarify stratigraphy and geologic structure of sea around Japan.
