勝浦市ボラの鼻岬の黒滝不整合

上下の地層の形成された年代の間に大きなギャップ（すきま）がある場合，これらの地層の間に不整合があるといいます．もちろん，時代的なギャップであって，不整合のところにすきまがあるわけではありません．黒滝不整合は，房総半島の地層中にみられる有名な不整合です．東海岸の勝浦市吉尾のボラの鼻では，下位のタービダイトとよばれる整然とした地層を上位の雑然とした地層が黒滝不整合を境に重なっているのが観察されます．
The Kurotaki Unconformity
The Kurotaki Unconformity is a famous unconformity which is recognized in the Neogene sedimentary successions in the Boso Peninsula, central Japan, and is traced from west coast to east coast of the peninsula. At the Boranohana Point in Katsuura City, located along the east coast, the Kurotaki Unconformity is easily recognized as the different types of sediments are contacted through this unconformity.
